About Me:
As an artist, curator, educator, and creative consultant, my work is rooted in a deep understanding of the artistic process. I maintain an active interdisciplinary studio practice, and exhibitions and screenings of my work have been presented nationally and internationally as a recipient of a Cultural Exchange Grant from the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.
I’ve worked in a wide range of settings—from commercial galleries to DIY spaces, universities, and multi-million-dollar museums and botanical gardens. In these roles, I’ve organized over 40 exhibitions at renowned venues like the Pulitzer Arts Foundation (St. Louis), H&R Block Artspace (Kansas City), Tarble Arts Center (Charleston), and The Union for Contemporary Art (Omaha). I was the inaugural curatorial fellow for the Granite City Art and Design District—a conglomerate of land art and experimental project spaces focused on creative place-making in downtown Granite City, Illinois. I’ve facilitated numerous site-responsive installations, performances, and community-based art projects in partnership with contemporary artists across the U.S. and abroad. My experience spans everything from grant writing and public art strategy to curatorial research and event production.
My writing has been featured in academic publications, and I’ve taught and lectured at institutions in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to my roles as museum director and curator, I’ve served on executive boards at nonprofit arts organizations, planned international conferences, and built strong networks with artists, scholars, and changemakers all over the world. As a tireless advocate for artists with a deep understanding of creative mindsets and communication styles, I’ve earned the affectionate title of "the artist whisperer" from my museum colleagues.
I hold a graduate degree in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis and have dual degrees in Studio Art and Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University. My career—spanning nearly two decades—is dedicated to exploring how creative practices and visual culture shape our personal, social, and institutional lives.
